A Brief Convention History
MCYPAA 1 was held in Ann Arbor in 1979, marking the beginning of one of the nation's longest-standing YPAA (Young People of AA) conventions, proudly hosted by Michigan. Over its 44-year history, MCYPAA has taken place in 13 distinct locations across the state, with a new venue selected annually. Both Lansing and Grand Rapids have had the honor of hosting the convention on seven occasions each.
